THROUGH PRO-BONO LEGAL SERVICES TO INDIGENT PRISON INMATES, PAYMENT OF FINES

OUTREACH TO THE KUJE CORRECTIONAL CENTRE

The Firma Advisory team, in collaboration with dedicated volunteers from the Access to Justice initiative, conducted a transformative outreach program at the Kuje Correctional Centre, marking the culmination of our end-of-year project. During this impactful initiative, we facilitated the payment of fines for five inmates who had been convicted of relatively minor offenses and misdemeanors.

The outreach went beyond the financial support provided; it served as a platform for meaningful engagement with the incarcerated individuals. The experience was truly life-changing for the inmates, who opened up and shared their personal stories. As part of our commitment to making a positive impact, we also offered counseling sessions to guide them on the journey of reintegrating into society post-incarceration.

This initiative aligns seamlessly with our overarching mission, which revolves around ensuring that individuals are afforded the opportunity for redemption and second chances. By addressing both the legal and emotional aspects of their situations, we strive to contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate society where everyone is given the support they need to rebuild their lives.

The Firm in its Pro-Bono initiative has released over 40 inmates during the course of it’s Access to Justice mandate.

The Firm has also collaborated with various bodies to ensure Access to Justice for everyone using Tech.

This is to be achieved via a software being developed by the Firma Advisory in collaboration with a number of bodies.
