BUSINESS INCUBATION PROGRAM

PANELISTS’ PROFILES

Chinenye Uwanaka

Chinenye Uwanaka is the Managing Partner of The Firma Advisory (TFA) - a Pan African Law and Consulting Firm in Nigeria with clients in Africa, Middle-east, Europe, and America. Some of the Firm’s notable clients include: the Global Tech giant Apple, GIZ (German Development Agency), Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), and Development Bank of Nigeria amongst others.

She is passionate about about Nation building and has collaborated on projects with The World Bank and European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES). She is on the Advisory Board of ‘Nigeria Youth Futures Fund’ - a 5 million dollar fund which is seeded by Macaurthur Foundation and Ford Foundation. She has completed an executive program on Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School and is also a strategic Litigator and Arbitration Expert.

She also serves as the Thematic Lead for Innovation and Intellectual Property for the National Assembly Business Environment Roundtable (NASSBER), which is a partnership between the National Assembly and the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG).

She has received many awards including a Social Impact Award by the Vice President of Nigeria and the under 40 Esq Legal Award. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Essex UK, and an Executive program on Public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, USA.

Olaoluwa Olorunnsiomo, MBA

Olaoluwa Olorunnsiomo is a change maker, Strategist, Co-Founder at Seed Builders Foundation and Inovative Hub. He is focused on helping startups and entrepreneurs with tools, mentorship, connections and funding to make their businesses run more efficiently and become scalable through innovative methodologies. He also helps small businesses access long-term visibility, training and finance to innovate and be relevant in the 21st-century competitive business environment.

In the last couple of years he has assisted in the setup of several startups and provided professional training for public and private institutions. He is extremely passionate about entrepreneurship which has made him organize and work on different business and entrepreneurship conferences with prominent speakers such as US President Bill Clinton, Bear Grylls, Ruby Wax, Levi Roots, Caprice Bourret, CEO of Google, PayPal, etc.

He is interested in empowering young entrepreneurs with social impact solutions by increasing their capacity to do more good through the success of their businesses. He interested in setting up digital skills acquisition centers, business incubation and empowerment centers for local communities to increase the number of skilled individuals which makes room for employment, entrepreneurship, reduction in poverty and insecurity thus improving the society and invariable the economy at large.

Bamidele Seun Owoola, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Welcome2Africa International (W2A)

Bamidele is an energetic entrepreneur, passionate about the development of Africa. She is a visionary with proven strengths in communications, marketing, branding, and project management, alongside a proven track record of identifying, initiating, and capitalizing on business opportunities across sectors especially Africa’s Agribusiness sector. Bamidele is an astute business facilitator, with

experience facilitating local and foreign trade, investment, and business alliances. In addition to this She has spearheaded a number of high-level investment conferences in London, Germany, Ghana, The Netherlands Luxembourg, Nigeria, and Belgium. She is the founder of Welcome2Africa International, whose mission to become the center of excellence for the facilitation and deployment of investments and trade opportunities on the African continent. Through knowledge dissemination and convening activities along with bespoke client services, W2A looks to catalyze and facilitate finance, investments and trade into and across Africa - with a special focus on Nigeria’s Agricultural sector. Welcome2Africa International (W2A) is an investment and trade facilitation company with a focus on Nigeria’s Agricultural sector. W2A is led and supported by an advisory board who combined have facilitated over $5b worth of investment into and across Africa.

Michael Watyoka


Michael Watyoka is a management consultant based in Maryland, United States of America specializing in transforming struggling SMEs in Africa and Maryland, USA. He has operated SMEs businesses in Africa (Zimbabwe) for more than 5 years. He has transformed many struggling SMEs into flourishing organizations. More so, he is also a business coach for YES-Climathon Europe (Young leaders in Energy and Sustainability, he holds an Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Sustainability from the University of Cumbria in the United Kingdom. He has also done an Master of business Administration general (MBA) at Washington Adventist University in Maryland, United States of America. He has achieved the following awards and honors: Business coach of the year(Africa)  2020, Academic excellence award summer 2021, Academic excellence award Fall        2021, Academic excellence award spring   2022, Dean list scholarship  March 2022, Sigma Beta Delta   honor 2022.

NATIONAL E-COMMERCE POLICY MULTI-STAKEHOLDERS WORKSHOP

Our Managing Partner, Chinenye Uwanaka was the lead consultant for the facilitation of the E-commerce Multi-stakeholder Workshop alongside the National Advisory Committee on E-commerce and Digital Economy, which was themed: Stakeholders Dialogue on E-commerce and Digital Trade Policy for Nigeria, held on the 26th of August, 2022 at the Chelsea Hotel, Abuja.

In attendance were representatives of GIZ, the Central Bank of Nigeria, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI Nigeria), Federal Ministry of Justice, World Bank, Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, NITDA Nigeria, NCC, Standard Organization of Nigeria, National Export Promotion Council, Nigeria Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) among other parastatals in the public sector. The private sector was represented by Flutterwave, Paystack, Jumia Nigeria, AfriLabs and a host of other e-commerce operators.

The workshop addressed pertinent policy concerns of e-commerce in Nigeria in light of the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA)

Industry leaders, policymakers and other stakeholders proffered policy solutions to the identified issues. The Firma Advisory is dedicated to pushing forward new frontiers in the policy discourse on e-commerce and business models that leverage new technologies.
